  well, i'm going to break this up, because if anyone has read any of my posts, you know i can be long-winded.

  yep, i'm the person that can leave a minute or two message on a v.m.. i have been on this board for a month or two and wanted to make sure i'd be sticking around before i intro'd myself, so here i am.

  grab your favorite beverage, it's gonna be a long one.. in the beginning.... i learned of the "truth" through a co-worker.

  Wifes leaving their husbands

  this year alone, three wifes in my congo left their husband and da with jws (all of them have kids).

  similar cases are seen in nearby congos.

  its striking that far more women leave their man and the jws then man do.. i would like to know, whether this observation can be made in your area too.

  Well I left my JW husband. I hated EVERYTHING about my life so decided one by one to change everything! I do think the view of women in the marriage has a lot to do with it. My NON JW husband now treats me like we are a pair not that I am his subordinate.

  A year later another sister left her husband.

  this is a congregation of about 20 so I'd say it says a lot

  one book i read, the mists of avalon, was very important to me.

  among the main characters was merlin, who in the book, was called "taliesen".

  WOw mine is not as thought out as some of yours. When I first left I felt so free! yet the JW's viewed me as lost. So I was saying NO I am no longer lost I am found and I'm still a sheet not a goat! Not that I mind goats but you know what I'm talking about...

  The difference between "Respect" and "Servile"

  i always felt that many people don't quite know exactly what these words mean and how there is a difference between the two of them.

  looking in the dictionary: the word "respect" means to consider worthy of high regard and to esteem.

  it does not imply that the person doing the respecting doesn't have any respect or esteem for himself/herself.

  ...i was told but they usually were as i look back.. as a lad i'd sit and look to see who the lights would fall on.

  i'd get an almond and see how long i could suck it before i chewed at it.

  i'd imagine playing rock'n'roll on the congregation's piano.. how did you get through the meetings when you were bored?.
